Abdul Furqan, a bright 9th class student from Hathnoora village in Sangareddy District, Telangana, has brought pride to the nation by representing India at the prestigious NASA International Space Development Conference (ISDC) 2023, held in Dallas, USA.
A student of the 2023 batch at Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Kompally, Furqan was officially invited to present his innovative space project titled ELYSIUM. His exceptional work stood out among global submissions, earning him a special award and certification—making him the youngest Indian to receive such an honor at the international conference.
Avinash Shinde, an NSS Space Ambassador present at the event, lauded the young prodigy for his vision and creativity.
Despite lacking sponsorship, Furqan’s father, Abdul Waheed, made significant personal sacrifices—spending several lakhs of rupees—to ensure his son could attend the event and receive the recognition he deserved. He now earnestly appeals to the Government of Telangana and the Government of India to acknowledge his son’s talent and extend financial support to fuel his future in science and innovation.
Furqan’s accomplishment highlights the immense untapped potential in rural India. With proper guidance and support, he holds the promise to contribute significantly to the field of space science. His family hopes that his success story will inspire other young minds and urge authorities to invest in nurturing such exceptional talent.
